Homes show may choose Chester: If Walls Could Talk scouting county for new season on HGTV

If Walls Could Talk the HGTV weekly series, is coming to Chester and surrounding areas to film homes with intriguing pasts, unusual stories and valuable objects found inside.

Trendy now, 'antique' later 
Antiques of the future. It's an oxymoron but a deliberate one, devised by architect/designer Lisa Roberts, who looks at the best-designed furniture and furnishings of our time and picks those she thinks will be coveted when they're out of production everything from tea kettles to toilet brushes.

Getting away: Mexico 
Think Mexico, and vivid images leap to mind: spicy food and cool drinks, exotic nightlife and tropical sunsets. But our neighbor south of the border has a less-familiar side: a second-home haven.

Couple enjoys collecting, decorating with antiques sartifacts 
VIDALIA For Greg and Donnie Young of 506 Locust St., collecting antique artifacts reminds them of a simpler time when a community banned together. The couples garage is adorned with antique collectables like bow saws, cotton scale weights, and coal-oil lanterns used on trains.

HATFIELD - Beth Gibson has been collecting antiques for 20 years. One imagines needing a long line of rope around your waste to find the way out of her basement.

Bulletin Board 
A Water Quality Information and Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Feb. 3 in the Blackstone Public Library, 86 Main St. The event is hosted by the Blackstone River Coalition, Blackstone River Watershed Association and Blackstone River Watershed Council.
